Our oldest grandson married the love of his life Carole on November 24. I was so honored when they asked me to make their wedding cake. It has been years since I've made any wedding cakes. Needless to say I was pretty nervous. Fortunately they didn't want one too big, so I made a 10', 8' and 6" cake with each layer 4" high. The theme for their wedding was Country and their colors were Navy, Teal and Rust. All of their table decorations were made from burlap and dried flowers. I looked over my Stampin Up supplies and decided to make leaves out of the Bigz Autumn Accents die and the Wonderfall stamp set. I stamped them out of Glossy White and colored cardstock and inked them with Old Olive, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point. I ran all of them through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I made the rossettes for the top out of 2" wired Burlap ribbon I bought at a local craft store. Carole made the "B" for Baker from a wooden letter and wrapped it in twine. The wedding was perfect, they even had my husband participating. He does wookworking, so they asked him to make a 48' cross for the alter. It turned out so beautiful. Of course during all the excitement I didn't get many pictures, but managed to get a couple of good ones.
Your cake looks beautiful, Mary Ann! I'm so happy to read how lovely everything was.
