Mailman's Mail

Thank you to Sandy Allnock for providing a drawing of that cute dog by the mailbox.  I printed it out on Whisper White cardstock and then colored it with pencils.  I used Odorless Mineral Spirits to smooth it out.  I love that stuff.  It makes your picture look like you've water colored it.  I made it into a Christmas card with a verse on the inside.  I always add a personal note and some money each year.   I used Coastal Cabana and ran it through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot embossing folder.  I cut out the picture with the Labels Collection Framelits and Melon Mambo cardstock.  I also colored the eagle holding a letter that she provided,  but will save that one for next year.

Sycamore Street Strips

I had fun making this card.  First I embossed the Whisper White cardstock with the Vine Street folder.  Then cut up some of the Sycamore Street DSP in to strips of different lengths and topped it off with a free SAB button and twine.  I used my Big Shot to cut out Pool Party cardstock with the Framelits Labels Collection, then I stamped Happy Birthday from the January Best of Birthdays set and added some Dazzling Diamonds to set it off.   I really like those "Best of" stamp sets, especially the March flowers.

Easter Blessings

What a wonderful day and the sun is even shining here in western Washington.  We are planning our annual egg hunt in the cul de sac and brunch tomorrow.  The kids have so much fun. Should be around 18 kids participating this year.  I've stuffed hundreds of plastic eggs with candy, money and rocks.  I don't know who has more fun, the kids are me!

I brought this card to our monthly American Ink Demonstrator's March gathering for our make and take.  I really like the Easter Blessings stamp which is on page 24 of the Spring Catalog.  I embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper folder which always adds class to any card.  The egg is cut from the Oval Framelits Collection and the stamps came from the Bright Blossoms stamp set. I used Primrose Petals and Gumball Green on the flowers.  It's a plain and simple card, but looks elegant.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This is my time to celebrate since my maiden name is Connolly, even though I look terrible in green!  I had fun making my card.  I started off with a base of Certainly Celery embossed with the Stripes folder.  The Shamrock was punched from the large heart and embossed with the Swiss Dots folder and a large pearl in the center.  I used Lucky Limeade Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP to accent the card and stamped it with Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I love that stamp set.  Punching out the bottom of the card using the Big Shot and Adorning Accents Edgelits finished up the card nicely.

Adys Class Valentines

My darling little neighbor, Ady, asked if she could come over and make her classroom Valentine cards in my craft room.  How could I say no?  She used the same pattern my other neighbor girl used last year only Ady needed to make 26 cards!  She is getting so good using the Big Shot and her stamping is perfect.  She only made a couple of boo boo's, but we had extras so it didn't matter.  She stamped Happy Valentines Day usingTeeny Tiny Wishes on the inside of the card.  Didn't she do a great job.  I'm so lucky to have so many little girls that like to craft in my neighborhood.

Hubby's Valentine

That cute Clearlits Die Happy Whale made a perfect card for my husband. He just loved it. I punched out some hearts and added a sentiment from the Oh Whale stamp set in the Spring Catalog and I was all set for this morning. I added a 4.25 x 5.50 white cardstock to the inside plus some more punched out hearts and some mushy words. It's hard to make cards for my husband since he sees all the cards I make in my clubs.

February American Ink

Around 15 regulars meet once a month and we are asked to bring a food, make and take or a swap.  Most of us usually bring two of those items.  Mostly I bring the last two since I can never think of a food to bring until I'm there and then I think "why didn't I think of that?"  The first card was the make and take everyone put together using Spring Sampler stamps from the Spring Catalog and paper from Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP.  I just love everything in that new catalog and can't get my hands on those goodies fast enough.  On the second card which was my swap I punched the girl whales out of the Clearlits Die Happy Whale which is in the new catalog.  Aren't they cute?  The paper was a DSP from the SAB Sycamore Street.  I put the words together from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set.

Valentine cards

These are the two cards we recently made at our American Ink card club.  The red one was the swap card I brought and the white one was the make n take I had everyone make.  All supplies were StampinUp.  I love the new Hearts a Flutter bundle from the Spring catalog.  That set is so versitile and doesn't have to be used just for Valentine's day.  I'm having so much fun with the new Spring catalog and can't stop ordering things from it.
